Hindus consisted 28% of the population in Bangladesh at the time of partition, but now, only 8% of them are surviving. Even these Hindus are being persecuted by fanatics. In this way, Hindus in Bangladesh are on a way to extinction. Such a tragic plight of Hindus was narrated by Shri. Ravindra Ghosh of Bangladeshi Minority Watch.

Shri. Ravindra Ghosh further said

1. Hindus in Bangladesh faced 3,436 attacks, during which Hindu women were raped; men were murdered, and their houses were torched. Even today, such incidents continue to occur.

2. During last year, 36 Buddhagayas and temples were demolished. On these occasions, fanatics totally smashed the idols of Hindu Deities.

3. During last year, fanatics instigated riots and devastated 53 Hindu families. They violated Hindu women and killed the men members of families. In this case, a complaint was lodged with local Human Rights Commission, but the Commission preferred to maintain silence.

4. A Hindu young girl was raped by 4 fanatics; as a result, the girl was found to have remained pregnant. Now, the girl gave birth to a child. Nobody is ready to accept the responsibility of the child. The helpless girl took shelter with us. This incident was published with the newspapers there, but the government failed to take any action.

5. A woman was abducted and converted by force. She is still untraceable.

6. A Muslim police officer forcibly converted a young Hindu woman and married her subsequently. Now, she is being persecuted in a very inhuman manner. In this case, complaints were lodged up to Inspector General of police, but no cognizance was taken.

7. A school going boy was abducted and killed only because he was Hindu.

8. Information about such atrocities being committed on Hindus in Bangladesh was given to the United Nations Organisation and Government of Bharat time and again, but no one has taken any cognizance of the same.
