Bangladesh Minority Watch Condemns Theft of Idol and Statues from Temple in Chatmohar, Pabna

Early Sunday morning, thieves broke into a temple in Chatmohar, Pabna, and stole several Narayan Shila stones and a Shivalinga. The incident took place at the Gauranga Mahaprabhu temple in Handial Madhyabazar of the Upazila. Upon receiving the news, police visited the scene later that day.

Probhati Adhikari, the wife of the late Jibon Thakur and caretaker of the temple, stated that the Gauranga Mahaprabhu temple is a private temple on their property. After a devotional session concluded at 8 PM on Saturday, devotees left. At 5 AM on Sunday, she discovered a broken window and realized items had been stolen from inside.

She reported that the thieves took 29 Narayan Shila stones (four of which were made of touchstone), one Shivalinga, two brass seats, and one wooden seat. The local police were immediately informed of the theft.
