Incident of Arson and Idol Vandalism at a Kali Temple in Mahadebpur

 

On the night of May 17, 2023, at approximately 10:00 PM, miscreants set fire to and vandalized idols at the Kali temple in Sarkar Para, Nauhata Mor, in Mahadebpur, Naogaon.

Advocate Rabindra Ghosh, the President of Bangladesh Minority Watch, stated that he spoke with the Superintendent of Police and the Officer-in-Charge of the local police station over the phone regarding this unfortunate incident. They assured him that a proper investigation would be conducted to find the culprits, and a case would be filed. Efforts to do so are ongoing.

The President of BDM (Bangladesh Minority Watch) has strongly condemned and protested this incident. He stated that the government must be more proactive in preventing such repeated acts of idol vandalism. He also demanded a fair investigation into this incident to ensure the safety of the lives and property of minorities and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
