A case of abduction of a minor girl is being investigated by the Bangladesh Minority Watch in Dinajpur



Ananya Sarkar, a 16-year-old girl who recently passed her 10th-grade exams, and is the daughter of Ananda Sarkar from Islampur, under the jurisdiction of Birampur police station in Dinajpur district, was allegedly abducted on June 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM for the purpose of forced religious conversion.
The girl's father has filed a case against five individuals at the police station. The case number is 1/138. The names of the accused are: 1. Md. Akash, 2. Anowara Begum, 3. Md. Junaid Siddik, 4. Md. Angur Mia, and 5. Mosammat Amena Begum.
When questioned by Advocate Rabindra Ghosh, representing the Bangladesh Minority Watch, the officer-in-charge of the police station confirmed the incident. He also stated that the accused would be arrested and the victim would be rescued and brought before the court without delay.
The Bangladesh Minority Watch has strongly condemned the incident and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits, the rescue of Ananya Sarkar, and the implementation of legal action against those responsible.
