Shree Nirjana Sarkar, a 12-year-old minor daughter of Shree Samiran Sarkar from Bikalajuli village in the Dhunat Police Station area of Bogra district, was abducted on June 16, 2024, by Yasin Mia, son of Md. Abdul Hai from Kendua.
The distressed father, Shree Samiran Sarkar, appealed to the Bangladesh Minority Watch for their assistance in finding his minor daughter who was abducted by the accused, Yasin Mia.
Upon receiving the news, Advocate Rabindra Ghosh, President of the Bangladesh Minority Watch, contacted the Superintendent of Police in Bogra district via mobile phone to request help in rescuing the girl. The Superintendent then instructed the Officer-in-Charge of the Dhunat Police Station to take effective legal action.
Unfortunately, the case was not recorded until June 26, when the Officer-in-Charge, Md. Saikat Hasan, finally filed the case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act. The case number is 18/135. It is regrettable that the Dhunat Police Station Officer-in-Charge delayed the recording of the case, which is highly unacceptable.
The Bangladesh Minority Watch has strongly condemned the incident and is demanding the immediate rescue of the girl and the arrest and legal punishment of the culprits.
